How can you revive a dead tree?
Question:I have a small tree in my front yard that was planted some time ago. I never cared about plants until this year so it hasn't been watered in more than 3-4 years. It looks dried up but it still has leaves on some branches. I water it A LOT everyday and put plenty of plant food around the trunk and it grew greener leaves but it still looks dead for the most part. It's not a tree like you would imagine it's just 2 thin trunks about 6 feet tall with branches on it so i guess it could be a tree. If you have any tips on how much to water it or cut branches off stuff like that it would be very helpful thanks.

OK, dead is dead, and if it's dead...it's not coming back. (That only happens in horror movies!) Find out if it's dead. Get a knife, go out and cut some of the bark off the tree. Down to the white of the tree. Look at the bark, if it has a green layer, the tree is alive, but dormant, because of some damage, and it will wake when it's ready. Don't fertilize it any more. That can burn a trees roots if you give it too much.
Take a small branch/twig to a local nursery for some free advice. Just so you know, you may be watering too much. Also, you can sometimes revive a dying tree...but never one that's already dead! lol
You need to find out what kind of tree it is. Water will definitely help, if it is not already dead. Scratch the bark, and see if there is any green under there. Do not add lots of fertilizer until you know what it is. You can burn the roots of a
plant with too much fertilizer. Good Luck.
I would fertilized and water this tree frequently and also cut off the dead branches with the hope of promoting new grow..good luck
cut off any dead wood.cut as close to trunk as possible.cut off any dead shoots cut at a 45 degree angle . fertilizing should only be done below roots.you could use fertilizer stakes.you could lossen up the soil around the tree and ad some compost or manuer.
you can also force new growth by pruning.

You could always light a fire under your ash and plant a new one.
