I planted flowers and herbs with organic soil and now I have a mosquitoe infestion around my plants? Why?
Question:And how can I get rid of them? HELP, I can not enjoy my porch or flowers.

if u don't mind spraying chemicals then get a bottle of bug-b-gone and spray the area down! i use the one u can attach to ur hose.
Mosquitos need standing water to survive the larvae stage.
You must be watering too much, or the drainage is not good enough.
Dry the soil out for a couple of days and that might break the (life) cycle
... and then there's always pesticides ...
Not entirely sure what you mean by "organic soil" - so that's kind of an issue, but... Planting flowers such as scented geraniums, lemon grass, and others that have a fairly strong odor is a natural mosquito deterrent. The main thing is going to be getting rid of the mosquito breeding ground, which means standing water. If your flowers and herbs are in a container that doesn't properly drain, you're just going to be adding to the issue when you water.
If you're meaning that you used some kind of composting material as "organic soil" that could contain mosquito larvae, depending on where it came from.

I do know that they live and breed in standing water. If you are in an area that has been getting a lot of rain lately make sure everything around your house isn't collecting water. They don't need much. I don't know if the organic soil has anything to do with it or not. There are these disc called Misquito Dunks which are harmless to pets or plants but you have to put them in standing water. Only other suggestion is a screened in porch. Good luck!
