How can I encourage all the hundreds of mice in my garden to eat escargot instead of my b.y grass seed?
Question:It would solve a big garden problem.
Answers:
LMAO pups , your really having a problem with those pesky snails, and now it seems mice aswell lol, and as mice are veggies they wont eat the snails , you could try putting bird seed on the ground out side of your property ( you could even sow some on that neighbours garden the one no one likes lol ) this might distract their attention from your garden . As for the snails you could put a bird table up and attract some winged help( but they might prefer your grass seed ) I'm afraid apart from that or leaving beer traps , slug/snail pellets are your only option , hope this helps xxxx
fry them in garlick
a shallow bowl of beer filled to the brim. The snails love the taste of beer and dont mind drowning while drinking it. Place the dish under the affected plants.
Buy some lawn sand, spread it over the seeds, it will also keep the birds off, and it does the lawn good when the grass is growing.
get some bin bags and cover over the seeded area, put rocks on top.
keep checking under everyday to see if they have started growing, and when they have just take the bags off.
use salt to sprinkle on them
you need to be careful about leaving jars in the garden filled with beer.
I've done this before, gone on holiday, only to return to find several jars filled with snails and slugs.but also with bloated frogs (who got too drunk to jump out).and a couple of mice as well that fancied a beer!
depends on how squeemish you are at the end of the day.
Get some small lids and set them in and around your garden. Pour Coke into them and leave them for a few days. Empty and repeat every other day. The mice will be attracted by the syrup in the soft drink, once they drink from it they will die.
