Black flowered Plumeria?? Myth?
Question:I have heard that there is a rare Plumeria that was cultivated by the royal family of Hawaii that has black blooms.
I heard this from a plumeria cultivator in Florida who said that a friend of his had aqquired one of these rare cuttings and lived in California.
Has anyone heard of a Plumeria this color?
I have found a picture of a very deep red that was almost black and then some that were blue and pruple but not this one that is supposed to be all black.

We raise Plumerias in Arkansas (very carefully) and I have not seen a black one either. Here is a link to most the colors available.

I haven't heard of this color but would love a piece of it. I also live in Fla. and I have the pink standard Plumeria in a pot in my lanai.
sounds gorgeous. i have plumerias and my buddy grows tons. he has the dark red. i'd love to see the black.

Being born and raised in Hawaii where Plumeria's are abundant, I have never heard of such a flower. Usually I've only seen the yellow, white or red types.
