Is a swamp poorly suited for agriculture?

Question:Simple question. Prolly stupid to ask lol but it has some significance to me.

Answers:
If you try to grow things in the swamp as is, then you will not have much luck.

However, if you can manage to drain the swamp, the soil will be excellent!

On the east coast of Canada and the U.S., there were a group of settlers called Acadians who built dykes with very simple drainage systems aroung large portions of land previously swamped with water. After the water drained out, their farms were very successful because of the fertile land.

So if you're willing to put in some work, then a swamp would be great to transform into argiculture. However a swamp as-is, is not good for agriculture.

yes unless you are trying to harvest mud
if the swamp is a brackishwater swamp (found near coastal areas) you can culture different species of crabs and shrimp or create fish ponds to raise certain type of fishes. This branch of agriculture is called aquaculture.
