Is there anything to put on mulch to make it dark?

Question:

Answers:
There actually is a colorant that you can spray onto your mulch to restore it back to its orginal color or in several other shades. The product is called "MULCH MAGIC" and it's manufactured by Becker-Underwood. I've worked with the product and it does a great job!

Here's their website which tells you about the product and rates to use;

Here are a couple of websites where you can purchase it online;

Hope this is what you were searching for. GOOD LUCK!

You can buy dyed mulch. Black even, if you like.
There must be. I am saying this because we have a landscaping company in our little area where we rent. These people place mulch twice a year. It starts off dark and after a couple of months it is almost white and very ugly. So, I think they put some kind of darkening agent in it. It usually contains ants as well.

If you are having this problem, you may want to get rid of it and go get some good mulch from a local nursery who will tell you the best kind to place right now.

My mulch even contains large pieces of what looked like palm tree bark. Strange..wonder how much the owners pay to have it placed.
I'm sorry to say there is nothing to put on mulch to make it dark. It usually darkens with age.
more (fresher) mulch. it's called top dressing.
