Lots of weeds and brown spots in my lawn. It is hot now, so what can I use on my lawn for weed control?

Question:Neighbors around me do not do weed control at all, I may be fighting a losing battle.

Answers:
First, dry grass goes brown/dormant and that is ok.it will green up with rain..this is NOT the time for weed control..you should have done this early spring or now you should wait til late Fall...sorry..leav... everything alone and talk to your neighbors about a combined effort in the Fall. Check out the Scott's website for tips too.

You don't say what zone you are in or what kind of soil in which you are planting. Try planting something like Zoysia, I am in zone 3 with sandy type soil and have countless people struggle with fescue. Without a sprinkler system they don't have a chance, but with the Zoysia it requires little water and once it gets started it chokes out the weeds.
It depends what kind of grass you have but typically you could use 2 4D AMINE and depending on the grass it will tell you the dilution rate. St. Augustine you can only spot spray but bermuda is very tolerant. Now as for the Brown spot you could use... well I don't know if you can still use a product called FSTOP made by fertilome and it will help get rid of take-off patch and brown patch.
