How to tell why a plant is wilting?

Question:If a potted plant is wilting, how can you tell what the reason is? Too much sun, not enough water, or too much water, heat, something else entirely?

Answers:
Depends on what kind of "wilting", if the leaves are droopy and brown around the edges that is not enough water, if the leaves are droopy but are still green and supple that is too much water. Be sure to turn your plant if it sits near a window so that the leaves that face away from the window get some sunlight. Never place a plant in direct shot of any heat or AC source. You should also clean your plants (only on smooth leaves don't put water on leaves that are fuzzy i.e. African Violets) every month or so, you can use a spray bottle filled with water and then lightly wipe them with a clean lint free cloth then mist them again.

i might be the heat or not enough water. look up the plant and see what conditions it likes...
it's usually lack of water or too much sun or both. thats the only reason I've ever had that happen.
feel the soil for moisture. if it's dry, it needs water. if it's wet, then it's too wet and the roots are rotting.
