Why isn't my cantaloupe plant producing fruit yet?

Question:My cantaloupe plant is growing out of control with tons of flowers, however, I've been patient and I still haven't seen any fruit growing on it yet.

Answers:
take some of the flowers off. This will tell the plant to make fruit on the remaining flowers. When it makes friut put it up on a coffee can or something to that effect. It will keep the fruit clean and away from some bugs.Cover it with a shower cap so critters can't snack on it.Or go to the store and buy some when they are on sale.

I don't know where you live but up here in the Northern Adirondack's I wouldn't expect they'd have usable fruit till fall. If they were planted say around the first of June.
if you want youre plant grow then you should gave water every eveing time so that the plant can have alot of water to drink off from the water hose you gave . it does work for my garde and my neighbor garden too.
Flowering is the begining of the process. Give it time, sunshine and water. There "will" be fruit. Plant other things too and watch them flourish. Much goes faster than melons. Time is its own reward.
