How do I deal with this plant?

Question:My aunt brought me some plants that were going to be thrown away at the greenhouse at the place where she works. I don't remember what she said these were or how to deal with the seed pods. She said to break them off. Right?

Answers:
If you want the plant to live (unsure they look kinda bad), cut off the long pod things now because they are putting their energy into producing seeds at this time. If you would like to save seed on the other hand, leave them til they brown and dry, and break them open and walaa seeds for next year. Not sure what they are though.

transplant them to bigger pots for one month then plant them.
Do the flowers smell spicy-sweet? Does anyone else think these look like stock? If so they won't bloom again but the seeds will make nice flowers next year. I see an old petunia there in the middle. If you pinch that bloom off it might bloom again, assuming it gets over whatever is troubling it now.
Like you would if you are picking beans. There is a joint where the pod connects to the stem just twist and it will come off. Then plant them in bigger pots and i think they need more direct sun, they look leggy, like they are reaching for the sun.
