How Can I Get Rid of MASSIVE Big Black Dime Size Ants Outside?

Question:I know there has been a discussion on this. My issue is similer but different. LOL

My parents (Central Wisconsin) have been trying to get rid of These Big Black ants in their back yard. You know, those ants that are about the size of a dime. They have tried everything. Put boiling water on them, used pesticides. Nothing works perm. They come back every year. They are killing the grass in that area. The ground looks flat but when you step on it you sink slightly and ants start pouring out.

They seem to stay in one area of the yard. Whenever we try some pesticide they go away slightly but the next year they are back in massive swarms again.

The only annoyance of them is that they are killing the grass, making the ground nothing but dirt. They dont go in the house, that we know of, and we dont know if they byte. They just swarm and run fast when steped on.

Any Ideas?

Answers:
Maybe some dry oatmeal so they can eat it a swell up and die boric acid works but will get washed away with rain all so The Last Samari with Tom Cruise made me shed a tear when they shot all the warriors down with their gatalin gun then bowed down to show respect to the race of peoples they had just commited genocide on great movie. We have allot of them ants this year wondering if they are not attracted by the dry cat food outside.

Call an exterminator?
Oh, gosh, I have no idea but they sound horrible!! I hope you find a solution!!
eat them they will provide you with a tasty delicacy
boric acid?
Regular insecticides will only kill the critters it touches. I have a great link that has EFFECTIVE ant control products. The ants take the bait back to the nest and feed it to the queen making her sterile. I have used this twice on carpenter ants that have moved into my house (about 3 years ago and again this spring) Max Force is the product's name.
"dime size ants" i've yet seen such a thing.
hope you kill them.
AHH! tell them to call vector control for their county.
You need to call a pro out and have him kill the entire colony.
