The easy way is to rent a crawler tractor with dozer blade, but probably not cheap. I would rent bush hog to start, this is like a big lawn mower that cuts brush. Once the bigger stuff is down and out, other than trees, it could be plowed, not easily and not close to trees but doable. Then once racked, this is a tractor implement not a hand tool, it is ready to plant what you want.

agent orange..lol
Rent a small caterpillar mutil terrain loader for a day and just rip them out. It might cost a couple hundred bucks, but you would be able to rip them out and re-grade the soil in a day. Plus how much fun would that be? You could even go so far as to get some compost/manure/topsoil and build up the beds and add some geographic variety to your yard instead of it just being flat.
Bamboo is difficult. You can try posion, but it will probably come back, you more than likely will have to dig all the ground where it is, and retrieve all the roots. It will spread and and spread. I think spraying will only effect the top portion for a short time. The rest of the vegatation will need to be mowed down racked up and the ground tilled. At this point you then can spray. If you would like to do this in reverse would probably work also. Stay away from trees with solutions, it can hurt or kill them.
Problem with getting rid of the other vegetation using a spray, becuase you still have to remove it and then you've sprayed something toxic on it and then have to remove it. If you can, rip it out. You can also put down tarps, black plastic, etc to keep the new shoots from emerging until you are ready to plant. Best way is to plant what you want in there ASAP.

You can use roundup on the bamboo I believe and you can just spray the top and it will move through the plant and kill it. PLEASE read and follow the label if you do that though. I dislike pesticides!
I believe in addition to digging up the ground, you have to lay black plastic down for a couple of weeks. This helps kill it off for good.
Bamboo is a pain to get rid of.
A special mixture of agent orange and ddt ought to do it, although bamboo is almost impossible to get rid of.
better rent a tracktor & buldose all the plants..
it will safe ur time but not money.:)
