How often should I water my new lawn?
Question:I planted grass seed in my front yard to avoid the cost of sod and parts of it have grown and others not. What I am wandering is how wet should I keep the lawn? Do I water it 1, 2, or 3 times a day?
Answers:
put grass feeder once a week and water twice a day in the morning and night and the parts that don't grow put more seed the one you put are dead so put more seed it happens they dri up and die, so put more and repete the same steps over again and enjoy a good lawn in a month or two it time and work.
once a day should do it, depending on where you live and how dry it is,Just make sure you water it either before the sun come up early in the morning, or at sundown at night. Alot of people make the mistake of watering there lawn during the day when the sun is its strongest, doing that can cause you grass to turn brown or burn, Hope it turns out great!
Usually once a day is fine if temps are moderate--twice if it's really hot. But never do what the two above said--do not water at night or near night. If the seed is wet when it gets dark and the cooler temps of night arrive you're asking for the seed to mold on you. You can water in the morning and if a second watering is needed do it about 3 hours before dark so the seed can dry before nightfall.
When I replanted mine I watered it once a day in the evening so that the water would not evaporate to fast and soak in. I put a lot of water down when I did it too. Once it grows back full just water it once a week. 1 inch a week is all your lawn needs.
