Any tips on over seeding some winter killed grass spots?

use a metal garden rake to aerate the soil
sow your grass seeds
lay down a thin layer of straw to prevent erosion

when grass is 4-5 inches high mow it
the straw should mulch up on it's own
if not gently rake it up if needed
