Importing palm trees?

Question:My neighbors have imported palm trees from California and put them in their yard (in Michigan where most of the year, the climate is not suitable for palm trees). It looks veryyyyyyyy weird! Would you ever do this?

palm trees are from the tropics so everytime the temp.drops below their optimum temp.there will be always problem.choose the dwarf palms so it is easy for indoor gardening during cool months!
