Yes, rhododendrons are poisoness. Especially, to rodents, thus their name. If a kid ingests rhody leaves, they will puke them up. Rodents have no ability to puke and will be killed by Rhody leaves. Rabbits, mice, rats, you name it, they all will die. My pet rabbit never seemed to mess with them though, guess he knew better.
Basically, don't let your kids eat the rhody leaves. If they do, give them some syrup of epicac, to get them to puke it up.
