How to get rid of red ants on chilli plant?

Question:I planted some chilli seeds in my garden and they have grown to about 30" tall now. However, there are lots of red ants climbing onto the plants. Even put its' eggs and babies underneath the leaves of my chilli plant. As such, the plants do not look as healthy now. How can I get rid of the ants? I do not want to use chemical. Any natural remedies would be appreciated. I am waiting for the flowers and hope to harvest some chillies in a few months' time.

Answers:
Sounds like you have aphids. Try washing them off with your hose. Insecticidal soap is a good non-chemical way to get rid of them & the ants.

I doubt the eggs are ant eggs. Ants like to herd aphids and thrips like we herd cows. It is most likely that you have some other pest. The "babies" may be this other pest.

See below a list of more likely pests -
put two cups of water and a spoonful of baking soda in a spray bottle and spray weekly.
pepper spray
I find that pepper spray works best, or you could take dawn dishwahing liquid that has been watered down and spray them with that, and get big bucket with some dawn and water and pour it all around the plant, that's the cheapest way to do it and it really works, it also works on most ant hill problems you just have to poke a hole in the middle and make sure you saturate it well so it gets to the queen.
put hot sauce on there with salt
