Anyone know anything about transplanting apple trees?

Question:The other day a friend gave me some branches of their apple tree for me to grow in my garden. Any tips or things I should know about transplanting the apple branches so I can get trees?

Answers:
Have these branches been rooted already, if not, that's the first step. After rooting them, then a nice sunny area would be perfect for the growing tree. Make sure your hole for the tree, have some compost in it, this will help give the tree nutrients. Water the sapling every day, except when raining of course, lol. Check for any signs of stress as well. Oh yes, also make sure you tether the tree down on at least two to three sides, it is only a sapling, and needs to establish it's root system. Hope this helps, take care and enjoy that apple tree.

You have to root them first. Dip them in rootone, and hope for the best.

You know, nurseries are selling their stock at reduced prices now. I got two red delicious trees for under $20 at Lowe's! Give them a try too...
