It worked for my hubby when he was a kid. He dragged around his mower and went to the homes with long grass or busy people. He quickly got a load of customers. If you can get to a neighborhood with older ladies in homes they will sign up and bake you cookies.! Good Luck!

only if you have a piece of paper with all your details on ..a printed one which you can photocopy..maybe a little motif...of a tree or shrub..then make up a catch name...and your sure what yr prices are .nothing worse than going um...er.
Yes or you may try posting a small sign at the exit of a subdivision or at a busy stop sign. Also contact local real estate agents or offices they usually have a few homes for sale that need grass cut
Yes - its the best way to do it. Wish you'd come to my door - the old git who's done my garden is a real meance. Sometimes doesnt come for weeks so the place is overgrown with dandelions, then he'll come every other day (when I'm not in) and still expect to get paid. He mows over the top of all my plants and bashes my trees. I'd do it myself but I'm only there every few weeks. Wish there was someone else in my area doing this work.
Its a good idea if you put leaflets in the doors first advertising your service and say you will call in a few days people will be expecting you to call ,then your less likely to have the door shut in your face
