Why has my sunflower stopped turning to the sun?
Question:its about 5 feet tall and the head is about the size of a mans fist, but since we had all that rain it just seems stuck!

Sunflowers are complicated things. Sometimes they love you, sometimes they don't. It's difficult to know where you stand with them at times because they're so unpredictable.
Maybe it feels sad, not willing to look at the sun and face the world as it really is? Have you tried singing or playing music to it?
The answer lies in the question...the Sun is not out.

Its simply waiting for the sun again. To photosynthesise sunflowers point to the sun to gain its energy to its full ability to produce large flower heads you will notice it start to move again when we get some good weather don't panic mine have done the same!!
Well it is as confused about the season as the rest of us.It thought it was summer but now the sun has gone it is not sure so it looks all ways but to no avail.

It could be getting luck of sun if you say it has been wet and cloudy. The flower may also be finished.
Once sunflowers are grounded they need lots of water to hold up the bulk of there stalk over time.
The roots must not be waterlogged and able to spread then you just have to hope the sun will shine on your garden.
TO BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE SUNFLOWER HEAD FOLLOWS THE SUN .AS THERE HASNT EXACTLY BEEN AN ABUNDANCE OF SUN LATELY, I THINK THAT IS THE PROBLEM. JUST HOPE WEATHER IMPROVES.
