How do you care for a Pear Tree?
Question:I just recently purchased a house that has a pear tree in the front yard. It is fairly tall, and is bearing fruit. I do not have a green thumb at all. I live in Austin, Texas. How often do I water, fertilize, spray? Help!

If you wish to get the most out of your fruit tree there are certain pruning and pest control techniques that should be practiced. Texas A&M is an excellent resource in your area.
Do nothing. The more you do for them the worse they get. Maybe a little water, but I have some in my back yard and I don't do anything to them.
With a partridge in a pear tree!
