try a chistmas cactus... virtually no care but great flowers each christmas
An ivy just make water once a week and sit in front of window.
Bamboo.
Any Succulents or Cacti, Snake plants, Spider plants, Purple hearts.
Try a Golden Pothos "Devils Ivy" as it is sometimes called and/or the "Cast Iron Plant" they both require minimal watering and maintenance. The Pothos is also tolerant of low light situations.
the Jade plant---in the succulent family. Very asian looking and grows rather slowly, but steadily.Attractive, lots of sun or bright light, not much water. fertilize every few months.
or the ever popular cacti family---many different shapes and types. If you have little fingers around, better avoid those.
The bromeliad family of plants (in the pineapple family) is exotic and colorful and so easy. People are afraid of it, but it only requires a bright room and alittle water on the soil, don't overwater, also put alittle in the "cup" of the plant. Many colors and they easily reproduce "pups" from the base of the plant. When the pup has reached a nice size and the mother plant looks tired, remove the pup and toss the main plant. Best of luck. ps the pups need to be potted and you can use the same pot.
Cactus. Water it once a week or every other depending on the humidity in your house. Requires little to no care, and can protect itself in case of bugs.

Gotta love it. I like Aloe Vera because it's a medicinal plant as well, rub one of the leaves on your skin when you have a cut and it heals faster than you can say 'neosporin'.

Trilli
Aloe Vera plant! Not hard to care for and when you need some Aloe, just break it off and rub it on the affected area.
you could get a philodendron, a mother's in law's tongue also called a snake plants, cactus are good , pothos
I love the aloe vera plant too because it also serves for medicinal purposes. Anytime I burn myself cooking or something I'll break off a piece and rub in on the burn several times that day and it heals twice as fast. It's so easy to grow, just set it by a window and water it when it's dry and feed it every now and then with a miracle grow solution. Mine has grown so big it's unreal. Ivy's (that's what I call them) are just as easy and they make a long trail of beautiful leaves if you'll let them. If I had to pick one though it would be the aloe since it is also a handy medicine to have around the house.
