Anyone know anything about warm soil ??

Question:Im planting seeds in my back yard how do i keep my soil warm.
I live in New England

Answers:
The soil should be plenty warm this time of year. If not, you will have to start the seeds indoors, but I don't think you will have a problem outdoors.

Like Lee said, it should be plenty warm by now. You don't want your soil TOO warm: Otherwise, you could end up cooking your seedlings.

But for the times you have cool soil to deal with, you should be able to find black mulching plastic of a sort at a local gardening supply store.
You could keep it warm by putting some heat lamps over it
or you could build a small greenhouse.
The soil should be plenty warm now, but as the temp. goes down so will the temp of your soil.....just wondering Nick, what kind of seeds will you be planting.? In the fall of the year,I plant greens, mustart, kale and turnips...YUM
