How do I plant a Juvenile Orchid which is growing from a bloom stock?

Question:The Phaelenopsis I have was knocked on the floor and broke off a secondary bloom stock which had already produced blooms once. Where it broke from the main bloom stock, a new plant has formed and is now forming air roots (just 2 small ones so far). How do I establish this plant as an individual in a seperate pot? How many air roots should it have? How many leaves are best to support a potted plant?

Answers:
What you have is a keiki. It is good that it has formed roots, and they only need to be a few inches long to be sufficient. You will want the baby plant to have at least two leaves, preferably about two inches from end to end. There isn't much to it, and you can read about it on the web page below.
