Recently had our garden turfed?

Question:we had our garden turfed 11 days ago,i've checked on it today and we have several mushrooms growing,is this normal?if not, what should we do? all genuine answers greatly appreciated.thanks :-)

Answers:
its nothing to worry about, this is caused by the mushroom compost that is used by the turf grower on the field they used to grow the turf, you need to wait at least 3 - 4 weeks before cutting the new turf then these mushrooms with disappear

you was advised correctly to water the turf well every evening but as you say we have been having lots of rain for the last couple of weeks so as long as your new grass is still green and there are no pale green/yellow patches it should be fine

hope this helps

thanks

in only 11 days? they must be magic mushrooms... happy sunday !!
Mushrooms are the combination of a little too much shade and water. Try a good dose of limestone and decrease watering a little. if no desired result is met, call the turn company. Good luck
no worries fungi are actually good for the soil
There's nothing wrong with mushrooms ! If you don't like them there easy enough to pick and get rid of!! As long as your turf is green and it's been raining you shouldn't have to do anything more!! Just enjoy your lawn!! LOL
I think you were supplied with pasture turf rather than selected seed grown. The mushrooms are a result of live stock grazing on the grass before it was lifted. Another explanation is if your builder used mushroom compost as a soil conditioner prior to laying the turf. Finally was there an old tree on the site which was cut down and the stump not removed?
In all three cases don't worry they will soon go and hopefully no more will occur as the food source will have been depleted.
We had our lawn turfed about a month ago and we also have mushrooms growing on it
I rang the turf supplier and they said its normal with new turf just keep brushing them off after a cutting the grass a few times they should stop.
They are a real nuisance though because i have to make sure my 20 month old grand daughter doesn't pick them
