Pumpkins??

Question:What is the average month a green pumpkin start to turn orange.

Answers:
It is usually August or september in the north if you got it started around march, and maybe a bit earlier in the south but on average 3-4 months after you plant the plant in the first place.

Most often September. Sometimes August.

Depends on what part of the country you're in, and when you got your pumpkin plants started.
It depends on the pumpkin. A typical Connecticut Field Pumpkin (they get to be about 12-18 inches) will start turning Orange in mid-July for areas in the South (Maryland-Florida) but in New England it'll be closer to August.

Keep in mind that pumpkins keep spreading, so you'll keep getting more and more pumpkins as the season goes on.

For larger species - the "giants" that can be 300 pounds, they'll be a light yellow from the time they start, and will gradually turn orange in late summer.

Once it's a rich orange color, cut the stem, and spray the pumpkin with acryllic spray. It'll preserve the pumpkin for several months.
