Any tips on having our front garden turned into a driveway?
Question:we want to get rid of our lawn and make it a driveway for our car instead of having to park in on the road, we havent got a big budget.

Well, this is the cheapest way to do it:
Dig up the grass and MAKE SURE you get all of the root system. You'll probably have to dig down at least 6 inches into the soil. You don't want the grass trying to grow back once you layer in the rocks.
If you can afford it, get some thin wood planks, as wide as your hole is deep to "frame" the area you've marked out for your driveway. this way the gravel will stay in it's place and the grass won't creep over into it.
Next, head to home depot or a rock/gravel depot (there's probably at least one place in your area that sells gravel) and buy several bags.
Also, if you can afford it, trying putting one layer of pure sand down before you add the gravel. This will ensure that no plants grow up in between the gravel you've chosen and it's nice resting bed for the rocks, they won't sink down as easily.
Layer the rocks into the dirt, and keep layering! As you drive your car over the rocks, they will sink down and you'll need to build up another level.
I guess if your budget is really, really, tight, you can head to the river or the park and actually collect rocks by hand. Whew, that would be a lot of work!
Good luck!
