Best way to rid your car of the little sweetgum tree's spikey balls?

Question:We have a very large backyard, with a huge sweetgum tree on one side. It keeps dropping it's "fruit", which are small (about quarter-sized) spikey balls. They cover the entire yard, and we have to rake our yard very often to get rid of them.

Are there any more efficient ways of getting rid of those little balls, besides raking?

Thanks

Hello

Not really, there is nothing to prevent them from falling every year unless your remove the tree. If anything I'd say by a leaf blower and blow them into the woods.

mow 'em up and bag them. Whatever is left hit with a rake just to loosen them up, then mow and bag again. The less work the better, right?
