How can I grow Iceland Poppies from seed if it's too hot in my "zone" right now?

Question:I sowed some seeds but none of them germinated, is there a way to "trick" the seeds into germinating? I'm in central California and the seed packet says to plant them from Sept - Feb. I know they'll do great here because I bought some plants a few years ago and they bloomed all summer and fall. They were awesome. Thanks in advance for your help.

Answers:
soak em for at least 18 to 24 hours in a cup of water! they'll germinate 75% faster then any other method!
