Some things are better off left for professionals! Especially if you've never been stung, you may be allergic and not know it. If it is bees, then someone may take them off your hands for free to reestablish them elsewhere. If they are wasps, they would probably be exterminated. But with wasps, in my experience, they come back...being a good location for foraging for food.

Hardware, home or garden center will have wasp & hornet spray with a range of 30 ft. Then clean out the nest and soak the area with spray to keep them away.
Get a can of wasp/bee/hornet killer. These cans usually shoot a stream up to 15 feet. Get the can ready. Do a practice shot at something else. When ready, approach the nest/hive and give it a good ten second shot of doom. Then go into the house immediately and wait for a while. There may be cronies looking for you. This test/spray/run method has always worked for me.
Go to the store and get some wasp spray that will let you "shoot" from 10+ feet away. It works like a charm!
The hornet and wasp spary will work good but for a little excitement just take a broom and walk up and knock the nest down and then run like hell! It will work.
In the gazebo, probably wasps. Yellow jackets usually nest in holes in trees, rotten logs, or under ground.

Get professional to do it.

Or, After dark (they are in bed) , spray the **** out of it. Make sure your spray has an oily substance. If gets on wings, they can't fly. Wait 1/2 hour, (spray again if unsure of yourself) pry nest off into bag & tie of top & eliminate.

In country with rotten log, after dark, pour kerosene onto log & torch. Again is the night time and oily but now no bagging.
Wait 'til after dark, spray full blast with garden hose. If you get stung, put a copper penney on the sting. It will take the pain and swelling out.
I use the spray that shoots at a long distance too.
Make sure you spray when its NOT hot; they are more active.
The next day I spray with the hose the rest of the nest down.
Use a jet spray wasp killer at night when the wasps are helpless
