How do you solve drainage with a graveled driveway?

Question:I'm thinking of putting yellow stone with a red block paving outline on our drive, but was thinking how am i going to get water to run off as the stones would be flush with the blocks, so the water wouldnt run out into the street. any ideas?

Answers:
I'll assume the driveway has at least a slight incline away from the house. Rainwater will drain to a certain extent through the hardcore/mot/subsoil below the shingle. If the rainfall is such that the ground gets saturated the water will build up to the blocks at the lowest point, and overflow, onto the street. You would barely notice this was happening as the shingle would take up the space inside the blocked area, It isn't ideal, digging a soakaway or drainage channels is the textbook way to do things, but hey, it will work/be ok, it's how my front drive is :-)

u av 2 run it @ an angle so it runs off, or put a drainage system in place
You MUST build a slight incline away from the house/garden wall or whatever.

Try also to construct a sump at the lower end to aid drainage - basically a large hole filled with gravel and topped with your finishing surface. Make sure the gravel is well compacted because you don't want the sump to subside!
Buy land drainage pipe
cut trenches ,cut slopes into bottom of trenches
lay drainage into trenches connect outlet into mainhole
Back fill with shingle
