Need suggestions for what plants or fruit to plant.?

Question:I have a empty garden patch in front of our my house. There are two large pine trees in front of this garden making it very shady and dropping pine needles kill a lot of plants. What would survive there? Does anyone know what plants or fruit can survive these conditions? Weather is typically hot and dry in the summer and dry and very cold in the winter (-40C at times).

Answers:
Try Azaleas, Rhododendrons, and Hydrangeas. They all like acid soil and do well in shade. Also you can try creeping Myrtle, lily-of-the-valley and Hostas. If need be, you can add lime to the soil to decrease the acidity of the soil.

I think you should plant an orange tree for the summer. but put it behind a building. thats what they told me to do.
might want to try hostas, which love shade(also several varities) or even a ground covers like pachysandra or mondo grass which is very hardy.
poplar trees and cannabis
