What is the best way to get rid of mosquitoes?

Question:please help there are so many i cant even walk outside to get some fresh air.

Answers:
First off do you have any standing water anywhere, like a bird bath, pond...ect. If you do pour bottle of cooking oil in the standing water it will kill the larvae. Mosquito larvae have little "straws" that they breathe through, the oil keeps them from breathing and they die. The other possibility is to see if you have a mosquito abatement in your local area. Where I live you can call them and they will come spray and/or fog your property for free. Good luck!

when you find out let me know
kthx
Make sure there is no stagnant water around to attract them. If you can't get rid of the water, then citronella spray or candles work.
You have to start by finding the standing water where they are breeding. Dump it and try to keep it from happening anymore. It takes 72 hours for a mosquito to turn into a flying biter. You can use a mosquito fogger to kill off the majority left after disposing of their water source . 1 spoonful of water can breed 1000 mosquitos. Mosquito's don't like citrus. Plant some lemon balm/ trees. lavender bushes, pennyroyal, etc. These are all plants you can use to deter them from your property but prevention is key. If you have a bird bath then get some of those dunk cakes to put in and keep their larvae from hatching.
Best bet is to get citronella candles. Place them in a spot where you mostly spend your time at outside. Also make sure you spray your self with some form of insect repellent. That's about the best you can do.
Stagnant water is where they breed. If you have a nice garden to walk through, you may have this under all your plants. Try to keep water from puddling. Their life cycle is very short so you should see quiet a drop of their population in one week.
There is some stuff available,I found it at Lowe's. It is called Tarazicide. That may not be the correct spelling. I think it is made by Scott. I got it in crystals,a little expensive but it works. Sprinkle the whole ground area then wet it down. It diminished the amount of mosquitoes in my yard.It is supposed to last for months. I gave it another coating just in case. Good Luck.
Flame-thrower.? just mind the curtains.
THE BEST THING IS TO MAKE SURE YOU KEEP ALL WATER OUTSIDE TO A MINIMAL, THEY BRED IN WATER AND BUY A SPRAY FOR OUTSIDE, WALMART HAS SOME GOOD SPRAY FOR INSIDE AND OUT
A 12 pack of beer and a bug zapper. Mow the grass short
and eliminate any standing watter. There is a herb that
repels them but I forgot its name. They avoid direct sun.
