How do I make the grass in our yard looks healthy ?

Question:We live in Washington state. On winter it looks dull and this summer it all dries up.

Answers:
Grass dies when it freezes. The rest of the year you need a program of watering and fertilizing. You can spend as much time and money as you feel you want to and your yard will show the effects of the type of care. I live where its hot and watering is a must and very expensive. The ground is terrible so fertilizing really helps it green up and grow. Do not cut your grass short in the summertime. The heat will kill it and it will take much more water to maintain it. Start reading labels and talk to your local nurseries. Don't hesitate to talk to someone in a store that is looking at fertilizer and ask their opinion. The people that use the product in your area will have the best advice.

Water it. Winter, grass is dormant and so does not look good.
