Would a kick stool be suitable for my dad to use on slabs?

A kick stool has the disadvantage that you are bending over more which can make you dizzy and unstable.

Assuming you are in the UK go onto eBay and look at item 180138741196 (£16.98). The side arms make getting up much easier as your arm muscles don't deteriorate as much as knee and leg muscles.
