HELP PLEASE i need help with my backyard?
Question:ok i just moved in this house they didnt put grass back here so now im stuck pulling weeds all day how do i get rid of the weeds without bending down pulling them up all day long
Answers:
Poison the weeds, till the soil then mulch. Instead of having all that grass to mow and care for make your self a garden you can walk through with paths, use pebbles or small stones for the paths, that have curves and explore the trees and shrubs you have. Once this sort of garden is established there is not much more to do but to enjoy. Keeping the mulch up will eliminate the chore of weeding. You may get the odd one or two but that would be such a small problem. Give your back yard a life and the pleasure of exploration.
buy a hoe
try this one, go to home depot or other home impr. store and buy scotts weed and feed you can buy it where it will attach straight to your gardenhose if there is any grass there it will come out and all the weeds will die. Just be sure to read label instructionsand rake all the dead weeds out. Our yard in OK was the same way, we bought sod at the local sod farm and laid it ourselves..it is not that hard to do.. and by the way the zoysa is the best grass to get.
There's more weed than grass? Honestly, the best solution would be to till up the soil, rake out the weeds, condition the soil, reseed and start from scratch. It is considerable physical work up front but once you get the grass growing and follow-up with regular fertilizer and soil treatments, you'll have a great lawn that will last you a long time.
Note: If you follow the recommended watering schedule for grass seed and keep the area mulched with straw or burlap to retain moisture in the soil and seed, you'll see new grass peeking up at a week and it'll be ready to mow by about 3 weeks.
A beautiful grass lawn is landscape art, not the true state of nature. If you do weed and feed, you'll still be left with a bare yard. And, you'll still have to wait a month or so before reseeding.
Personally, I would put down some sod or re-seed or plant some ground cover to choke out the weeds. If you want to keep chasing the weeds without bedning go to the garden center and get a scuffle hoe. It tears the weeds out just below the surface and does it quickly.
