How do you find work in the horticultural department?

Question:

Answers:
Hello

You can do several things. Go to school and get a degree and flash it around to Garden Centers, Experimentation Stations, and Growers. Or you can learn as much as you can and give examples of your knowledge to employers, see if it impresses them and see if they hire you. Do not try the Garden Centers of Home Depot or Lowe's or any of that nonsence. True Horticulturists and plant fanatic's dispise those places amongst many others.

So you want to join the elite class of starving artists, huh?
Yeah, forget Home Depot. Find a good nursery with a lot of plant diversity and apply for a job. School is a must unless you want to live in a dumpster. There still isn't any money in horticulture unless you intend to start your own business. Too many people enjoy it and are willing to work for peanuts.
