When should I pick pears?

Question:

Answers:
Most pears should be picked when full sized but not quite ripe/still hard and allowed to fully ripen off the tree in an airy cool place out of direct sunlight.

If you pick when fully ripe they end o develop "gravel", tiny hard pits in the flesh.

Pears are harvested in late summer/early fall.

depends on the type of pear...once they start becoming soft is usually a good sign to start looking to pick them. all fruits come in at different times, like strawberries, cherries, blueberries usually come first followed by the other fruits such as necs, peaches, pears, apples. The pear tree we own here ripens in september, but all are different, so just look for those tell tale signs
