Run the filter.
Are you using the correct amount of chlorine for the pool? Make sure you are putting enough in the pool.
Your filter will not clean out what is on the bottom of the pool so you have to vacuum it. Vacuuming might need to be done every day depending how dirty it is.
Is the filter being ran long enough? Has the filter been cleaned lately?
Also it might be good if you check the pH and use the test kit to check chlorine levels or you can take some water to a pool shop and they might be able to check the levels of chlorine in the pool, pH..ect. And they could give you suggestions.
If you are unsure how to care for the pool I am pretty sure there are pool services in your area that will care for the pool if you give them a call.
If you have living organisms in the pool then the chlorine levels are not nearly high enough. Proper chlorine levels should be maintained at 3-5ppm for maximum efficiency.
Take a sample of water down to the local pool store and have them analyze it. Make sure they test for:
Total chlorine
Free chlorine
Combined chlorine
pH
Alkalinity
Hardness
Cyanuric acid
Total dissolved solids
Metals
Phosphates
Bring the results back and post them here or email them to me at robandliz1992@yahoo.com and we'll get you set up. Don't purchase anything at the pool store at this time, unless you want to spend far more money for the same chemicals. I don't sell chemicals, I just consult and recommend only the products I use in all my pools (I maintain 9 public and semi-public pools).
