Squash and Zuchini plant sick or bug infested?

Question:I have a crookneck squash and zuchini plant in my garden and both are seeming to have a problem. there are a lot of vegetables on there, and they were looking wonderful until the other day. They are starting to get spongy and turn brown and wilt away from end to root. What could be causing this? I sprayed for bugs in case that is the reason. But could this be a disease? Anyone have any insight?

Answers:
Sounds like wilt, usually caused by a virus carried by cucumber beetles. Once your plants start wilting the best thing to do is rip them out and destroy them. It is by no means too late to replant the squash and zukes.

You likely sprayed after the plants got infected.

sounds like soil is to wet and or the fruit is developing blossom end rot.
i have the same problem , it is to much rain that caused mine to do this.
Squash vine borers are very likely.

Does this look familiar? Slice open a stem long wise and look inside.
