Does planting basil close to a cucmber plant harm the cucumber, or taint it, or anything odd? good?

Question:Thanks!

Answers:
I wouldn't think so. If I remember right, last year I had my basil close to my cucumbers and they were fine. If by chance it does, market it and get rich!!

no it shouldn't. but watch u'r cuke vines don't over take it. They get going when they grow. Basil even may help in keeping bugs away... lots of herbs do. It's jst things like peppers next to tomatoes... things that flower... bees will cross breed them... then u end up w a green tom & red pepper or hot tom & mild pepper. had it happen.
no it wont hurt it but it do grow big
No, they will do well together. The main thing to avoid with cucumbers is putting the closely related melons too close to them. If you plant melons close enough to cucumbers for cross-pollination, some people have observed that the cucumbers are bitter.
