Grass seedlings?

Question:hi,
i have just planted grass seeds a week ago and there about 2inch in height now,
how long should i let them get before cutting with my flymo microlite...

Answers:
Get them up to 4 inches. You'll do damage now, as the root system currently consists of, well one "anchoring" root, and maybe a few adventitious roots.

Don't be in such a hurry to mow. They'll be plenty of that soon enough.

2" should be enough, just make sure you only trim the tops off and dont get near to the browner stalkier bits near the bottom.

If it is dry in your area you should give them a quick water after mowing as well
Cut them by hand with shears, a machine will pull them out by the roots. Wait at least 2 months for the roots to establish. They grew very quick, usually takes 10-14 days.
1 month, no less.

We usually let the grass get about 4 inches tall and mow it to about a three inch height, especially this time of year. The grass usually doesn't all grow to the same height at once, and keeping it taller will help the slower growing plants catch up.

I normally wait until they are about a inch taller, then just mow the top inch off to stimulate the growth.
