My mother and her friend are thinking of digging all of it out and replacing it with flowers; this is what we would like to do so much! Is it possible? What flowers should we plant? (preferably ones that are easy to tend to, but look pretty) Anything else we should know?
Answers:
Weeds are not weeds from what I can tell... the multiple tall plants that are green I believe is Liatris...or commonly known as gayfeather or blazing star. I'm not positive though...it's hard to identify from a snapshot. There is a weed that looks a lot like Liatris. Watch for tall white or purple flower(s) to bloom out from top. I have both colors and they're beautiful. The red plants looks like it could be dragon's blood and the bushes I can't see well enough to identify, but I wouldn't destroy any of them until I was 100% sure. The Liatris and dragon's blood are perennials and will come back up every year and of course you know the bushes will. It's hard to identify anything from a general photo...go to your library (or internet) and look up the plant names that I gave you...compare what they describe to what you have. Most perennials are pricey and shrubs/bushes are high too. If the former owners were landscapers, then they have put some money into planting...it would be a shame to kill it all. If you do decide to re-do that area, dig up plants and re-plant them to be included in your new design...who can refuse using free plants? That's where 75% of my flowers came from...
Bom, o ideal seria se você mesmo começasse a cuidar delas! Faça podas periódicas, uma adubação balanceada ajudaria também, porfim, não deixe de regá-las todos os dias para que elas se recuperem rápido!
