Raspberry second blooms?

Question:I have some raspberries that bloomed early in the year and now are producing a second batch. Is this common with raspberries?

Answers:
Some raspberries are considered "summer-bearing" and many are considered "everbearing." The summer ones bear one large crop that ripens within a week or so, and the everbearing ones usually set a larger crop first and then a smaller crop later in the season. Sounds as if you have an everbearing variety.
