hire some day laborers. they could move your whole lawn across the street for a few hundred bucks.
the ones you buy for $30 at yard sales...mine still runs great! haha.
I don't know about brands, but an electric mower is better for the environment- less gas usage and co2 emissions.

Honda or Snapper. They cost a little more and they last way longer, with a good consistent cut. Keep your blades sharp.
Most all the mowers have either briggs and stratton or tecumseh engines. Either one is reliable. Honda uses their own of course but the price of a honda is a bit out of line. Any mower with the features you want with a bit of care will last for years. They all need to be serviced, cleaned and protected. Wash and dry it after use, change the oil and filters and they will last a long time. My suggestion is look for the one that does what you need and get the one with the best price.
depend on what your looking for? rider, push, gas, electric. gas mowers Ive had luck with Briggs and straton, kohler, and Honda engines, i would stay away from Tecumseh most manufactures just make the body of the mowers and not the Engine look at the base and how its made and you can ussually find a cheap good one at walmart

I just read some information that said electric lawn mowers are cheaper to operate than gas mowers.
all of them is about the same depending on what you want,a mulching one is a little morbut worth the little extra
