My catnip plant is infested with tiny little bugs all over the stems.?

Question:little tiny green bugs. I thought this herb was supposed to repel insects. Does anyone know what this pest could be?

Answers:
get a small spray bottle. put in a few drops of dish soap and add water without letting it get sudsy. spray the plant well daily.

APHIDS!!

You have aphids!

This is a great excuse to buy ladybugs!

Here are two links that might be helpful for figuring out how to get rid of them. These bugs are a pain. You have to be diligent.
You can use tobacco juice to do IT to boil some tobbaco, use the water in a spray.
Ohboy, this tells me two things.
Aphid
and ants.

Ants use aphids like we use cattle, they 'milk' them.
Use the soap-solution given by the first poster, you may have to do it a few times.

Alternatively, cut it right down, it's a mint and will soon be back up again, by which time the ants have found another spot.
