How does one tell if their plant is going to bud?

Question:

Answers:
if the plant has got leaves on it already, notice how the new leaves look when they first appear and then open... the buds will look totally different then the new leaves. the buds will look different depending on the flower or shrub! just look at ur plant closely and u'll eventually see what i'm talking about! and if they don't have any yet. it might not be their time to bloom yet... just give em some time!

1. It usually buds.
2. It's not dead.
Ok...first it's best to know what type of plant you mean...Ok I KNOW it's a flowering plant... On most flowering plants near the "terminis" (either the branch, or the main stem)it's the very tip...you should see a structure that does not look like a new leaf;it might even take on some of the color of the flower...I need a bit more info to really help you...If you can tell me what the plant is; and I might be able to tell you what the bud structure is...
