What is likley to be eating the leaves of my garden plants?

Question:

Answers:
Bugs like aphid and whitefly suck the sap and make the leaves wilt; slugs and snails eat the leaves and make holes.
They hide during the day and feed at night. The easiest way to deal with them is by leaving traps out. Slugs live in the soil and like to hide under an old tile. You can pick it up and remove them. Snails hide in ivy or other dense plants, in the rims of flowerpots and other odd corners, when you find them collect them up and tie them in a freezer bag.
A can of beer with an inch of beer left in makes an easy trap, lie it on the soil so they can crawl in. They get drunk and drown.

slugs!
insects
caterpillars?
snails.
Slugs,Snails,Caterpillars.
Different insects for different plants. Dust with Sevin Dust and will probably take care of them.
slugs
Could be anything the most common is Greenfly & Blackfly Whitefly or spider mites. Try spraying with an inseciside. This helped when I had this problem and does not kill the plants.
Tina
grasshoppers, japanese beetles, lots of bugs.
With this moist weather we have been having, my bet is on slugs. They have been eating my 2 feet high sunflowers!
Next door neighbour -
He's been seen sneaking in over the fence at night and having a quick nibble - mostly on the herbacious border.

It's ever since this smoking ban.

Best thing is tospray with pesticide as he doesn't like the taste of dead white and black fly, and put some of those blue slug pellets down or even beer traps - you'll find he is tottaly distracted - for different reasons. Although the pellets could leave you with a hell of problem in the morning - whereas the birds and hedgehogs will clean up the mess from the beer.

If this doesn't work stay up all night and patrol the garden with flash lights and guard dogs. OR buy a load of frogs.
