Is it raining slugs and snails in the UK?

Question:It certainly is in my garden, they are even climbing all over my windows, the decking is awash with them, yuk!

Answers:
yes it.s snailstoning here!

Oh my goodness I'm so glad you asked this! I have had like 20-30 snails a day on my paving in my back garden! I keep picking them up and moving them to the park, but the next day I have more. It feels like I'm being invaded!
and what exactly is wrong with slugs??
no cats and dogs as usual.
sounds just like that movie Tremors?

being serious though I know what you mean, hasn't stopped raining all weekend in South Scotland, the poor blighter's must be drowning deep down in that wet soil.
no just water
Cool!! You can sell them to the French as escargot!! ;-)
Most gardeners take a beer can and cut in half put a bit of beer in the bottom, slugs will drown themselves in the beer YES slugs of all nations
I've been thinking the same thing, my poor plants are in a state out there. Have used the pellets but my puppy loves them so that's a no-go! Also, because she's got a curly coat, they stick to her and I have to cut them out or find them all over the house, settee etc, UGH!!! I'll try the beer thing though.
In Germany, too.I have now resorted to Nema-Slug (also known as bio-slug), a biological method of employing nematodes to get rid of the critters.
