What is the slowest growing grass for my lawn?

Question:i live in the dallas area

Answers:
OK, we had the same type of weather when I lived in Memphis and even though we had Bermuda grass, it does grow quickly. YOUR BEST BET would be: Zoysia grass. Hands down, it's the best bet. It grows slowly and looks gorgeous if you have a lot of hot weather. All it needs is water and occasional fertilizer but remember that Zoysia does grow SLOWLY, that is the best part about it, plus it is so beautiful. Your lawn will be the envy of the neighborhood and you won't have to mow nearly as often as everyone else!
ZOYSIA! That's what you need, especially in Dallas, TX!!
Good luck!

I believe it is Dicondra. I understand that you only have to mow it maybe twice a year. It is expensive, but it is beautiful.
There is a type of grass that will only have to be mowed maybe twice a year. It is very dense and never allows for weed growth. The trade off (here in the northeast, Ohio) is that it browns in the fall and stays that way until warm weather begins. In the south it may stay green all year though.
I will look it up and post the grass type.

Ok: I believe it is called "Buffalo grass" and must be planted from plugs.
Dichondra is a "leafy" ground cover.
